  • Did you know? In some countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, a girl from a poor family who lives in a rural area is twice as likely to be excluded from school than a boy from a wealthier household living in an urban area. Learn more:http://uni.cf/OOSCI #AfricanChildDay

  • "It's hard work, I've worked here for the last two years, to help my family, to find money to eat."

Aissatou Amadou, 14, crushes stones and rocks on the Gorol Kadje mine near Dori in Burkina Faso. In her country, many children work in gold sites and most have never been to school. We’re working with partners to get them out of the mines and into career training centres. While it’s not a replacement for their lost education, it helps them build a future.
